Hi, friends of Wayne UNICO – we hope you are all doing well!
Some updates from our chapter from our last update. Once again, it was our chapter’s pleasure to be able to donate funds to the Wayne Interfaith Network Food Pantry. Chapter President Joe Zisa and UNICO District IV Governor Steve Calantone presented gift cards, and they were very appreciative of our efforts. We are planning on continuing our giving with WIN, look for more updates soon.
A bit down the road, but mark your calendars, tentatively set for September 19th, our annual Car Show at the Wayne Township Municipal Building. Last year’s event turned out to be a huge event, and we are anticipating a great response this year.
Scholarship season is underway, and we are happy to announce that we are sponsoring two $1,000 scholarships, one for a graduating senior at Wayne Valley High School, and one for a graduating senior at Wayne Hills High School. This is part of the Community Scholarship presentation program at each school, and if you a student of Italian-American heritage, please reach out to your respective school’s guidance department to get information on how you can apply.
We heard that the Wayne Township Memorial Day Parade is ON this year, so look for our members and classic cars marching (and driving) during the parade.
